Go beyond fit or unfit
Many cases require restrictions, temporary modification, additional controls, review intervals or alternative suitable work. A binary conclusion can be both clinically weak and unnecessarily exclusionary.
Coordinate recovery
Return to work is most effective when the worker, treating team, Occupational Health Physician and employer understand the same plan while respecting confidentiality.
Review rather than assume
Restrictions should be specific, proportionate and reviewed. The goal is safe work and preserved livelihood wherever reasonably possible.
